Ok, dude... Amber Fry slept with *gasp* 5 men over the space of 3-4 years. Truly a scarlet A should be branded upon her chest. Now, far be it from me to take the feminist's standpoint here, especially as someone who has turned the objectificaiton of women into an obsession, but don't you think you have a wee bit of a double standard?

Is she any more of a "slut" than the 75% of the girls (or guys) we knew in Law School who porked 2-3 different people every week? Careless yes, but a slut?

Seriously everyone knows why you wrote this. You want to bang Amber Fry. Hell, so do I, she's pretty fine. Your just angry that Psychotic married killers get more tail than you. I had a different set of words for girls like Amber when I was growing up, mine were "let's date em'!"

I completely agree with you, Jason C. Five people over 2-3 years does not a slut make. Not even close in my opinion. However, not knowing who the father of your child is - well, sorry. In my book, that would elevate you to the slut category. I wouldn't brand an A on Ms. Frey's face, but I would definitely see about getting her four shots of depo-provera each year. Or maybe she could learn how to start using condoms. And keep in mind, the letter was written from the perspective of a four-year-old! Thus, it couldn't be as nuanced as one might like. ;-)

Only a word as depraved as ours could people come rallying to Amber Frey's defense and say that she isn't a slut. The moral deterioration in this country can be largely attributed to the Northeast liberals who seems to patronize the Fool's blog. Some people believe that it people should be able to do whatever they want and should never be labeled. I do agree with Jason C. on one thing, though, who facetiously stated: "Truly a scarlet A should be branded upon her chest." No, Mr. C... the A goes on her forehead, not her chest. If it was on her chest, a lot of people would still see it (she is a tramp, after all), but not everyone in the world. This would be unfortunate.

I saw a news story about Ms. Frey that basically let the public know that the man who had been paying her child support for four years wasn't actually the father of her child. That's all it took! Must have been a busy week.

The notion that only non-sinners can criticize is ridiculous. Maybe non-sinners should be the ones to actually throw stones, but for the common day stuff, we need someone professing values even if that person can't always live up to them. Take heroin for example. If a former heroin addict tries to speak out about the use of heroin, he's always going to be encountered by one idiot who says, "But you tried it so you're a hypocrite and I should be able to try it." Point is we should have ideals as a society. It's often impossible to achieve them, but they still exist. I'm not specifically referring to sex in this instance, but still contend that our ideal as a society should be for a woman to actually know with certainty who the father of her children is. - Fool

In your ideal society women would know the father of their children. In my ideal society buxom pornstars would having bidding wars about who would have the opportunity to give me oral pleasure. True your ideal society would most probably function considerably more smoothly, but mine would be a lot more fun (at least for me, maybe not for the pornstars).
Seriously though, would you have written a similar letter about Bill Cosby? In an ideal word Bill Cosby would have known he was the father of that girl who sued him, but he didn't. At the time I heard no one in the mdia denouncing him for being a slut. Or my personal favorite, Ethan Hawke, who, while on his book tour, left a trail of paternity suits so long that the tour was cancelled 5 months early. None of these gentleman were criticized beyond a wink and a nudge. But Amber Fry is the whore of friggin Babylon. Wasn't
Scott Peterson or the other fellows she slept with more of a slut? After all they were married and cheating on their spouses, Amber had no such commitments.

I don't mind criticizing people, what I think is disengenuous is differential criticism based on race, gender, etc. An "ideal" is only an "ideal" if it is applied fairly and equally.
I.e. Black people "loot", whereas white people "find."
In any event I stand by my original statement, and would still, most likely, bang Amber Fry if given the opportunity.
