Delay the Pardon

I have no idea if Tom DeLay should be found guilty of committing a crime (or two or three or four hundred). However, if a jury finds the man guilty, wouldn't it be nice if President Bush refrained from pardoning DeLay? Unfortunately, I don't think there's one chance Bush leaves office without giving Tommy a free pass.

Fool, you fool.

Thought that with a law degree you would know that the Prez can't pardon state crimes.

A fool indeed. I just heard the buzzwords "conspiracy" and "money laundering" and assumed he had been indicted by a federal prosecutor. This is actually good news! Bush won't have to make a difficult decision that might anger his base.

So Delay would have to rely on Rick Perry, Republican governor of Texas, for a pardon. Gee, I guess we don't have to worry about that one then, do we?
