"My Name is Joe, and I'm incapable of accepting defeat."
Last night, Senator Joseph Lieberman conceded the U.S. Senate primary to fellow Democrat Ned Lamont. Even though that ought to be the end of Lieberman, the Connecticut senator vowed to run for reelection as an independent on the November ballot, and all polls indicate that he’ll probably win the general election.
I like Senator Lieberman and generally favor independents. However, this guy needs to learn how to live life without completely hedging his bets. First it was the 2000 election when he simultaneously ran as the Democratic Vice-Presidential candidate and for the United States Senate. Now, he loses to a fellow Democrat in the primary; so he vows to carry on as an Independent.
The voters have spoken, Joe. You lost. It’s time to go home. For the love of God, it's time to go home. (Also, Mel Gibson said he doesn't like you.)

But it's NOT FAIR!!!! It's MY SEAT!!! MINE!!!!!
Who do the "voters" think they are telling me I can't keep MY seat?
They are just all anti-semetic.

I really liked the guy during the VP debates, but he's lost his appeal over the last few years. I missed the concession speech, but heard that he wasn't too happy.

TF, i completely agree. joe just doesn't know when to quit. and as an independent, i'm a bit offended that lieberman wants to run as an indie just to keep his seat - it seems a bit disingenous.

hey, at least he didn't blame electronic voting ala McKinney's speech

LOL :) My opinion of the state of CT and its general lack of importance in anything prevent me from caring too deeply about it. However, it would be fun to see him win.

heh, i dunno, i think it'd be fun to see him lose. it'd be fate's little way of saying, "sorry joe, but i tried to warn you!"

This is a career politician who believes he has a birthright to serve in Congress. It is pathetic when the People speak and say, "we prefer this person to you" and you respond with "well I don't care what the People say". What kind of example is this? How can you truly represent the people if you are going to ignore what they say?

Wow that Mel Gibson is REALLY powerful!

He was the #2 contributing factor to the Democrats losing the 2000 election.
He needs to step aside and find himself a new career that doesn't involve pandering to whoever will take him.
