Turning Back the Clocks

Normally, this whole nonsense about turning the clocks back an hour would have me upset. (I would much rather have it stay lighter later than be lighter earlier in the day.) But this year, I actually feel quite content. I really could use the extra hour of sleep! On the other hand, I'm sure that when I leave work Monday, I'll be pissed and then some that it's dark outside.

Speaking of leaving work when it's dark outside, is it wrong to grab a free meal when you see a Salvation Army truck giving away food to homeless people?

I think, as an employee of the federal government, you owe it to the homeless people to test out the food they're being served to make sure it's edible.

Having worked for several soup kitchens in my time, I'd say nahh..the food is pretty crappy.

And I hate the concept of Daylight Savings Time. I think it's freaky to mess with time.

For the record, I didn't actually take food from the truck. I admit the thought crossed my mind though. It was late and I was hungry and NOT in the mood to cook!

YES, it is absolutely wrong to accept free meals when you have a job.

No, it's only wrong if you aren't generous with those from whom you are taking the meal. If you give to the homeless, I think it's only fair that you can get a little something back. Even PBS gives you a tote bag.

Sure, that's like going into a 7/11 and telling the clerk you're one of "Jerry's Kids," and then asking if you could just take some money out of the collection jar.

And if you really dislike that whole daylight saving time bullshit (more correctly described as "daylight shifting"), then move back to AZ.
