John Edwards - Backbone of an Amoeba
So John Edwards finally endorsed someone in the Democratic Race for President. Today, he informed the masses that Barack Obama is his man.
Edwards might be one of the most spineless, gutless politicians in the nation. He waits until the nomination is all but locked up to FINALLY lend his support to the Senator from Illinois? Give me a break. Is there anyone alive who thinks there's even a 1% chance that Edwards would have endorsed Obama if Hillary were the shoe-in at this point? What an opportunist!
I don't fault Edwards for looking out for himself; I just fault him for being so insincere. Am I the only one who sees what a fraudulent huckster this guy is? I sure hope Obama does not select him to be his running mate or to fill some cabinet post should the big O get elected. There is not a single position for which he'd be qualified. Not one.

Edwards should be the next attorney general, i want a trial attorney in there doing that job. That would just work out great.
I hope the Big O drafts Wes

See, I like Edwards...I don't think he's any more weasly than any of the others. I'm still hoping Hillary will pull through, though. I'm wary of the Obama bandwagon.

I think Obama would be wise to pick a running mate that has a lengthy and distinguished political career. If that's not an oxymoron.

Harsh! I don't really think the Edwards endorsement matters at this point. Are people really still undecided between Obama and Clinton? More importantly, do these people even matter? (If I were more up to speed I would know what states are left...but it's been a long day.)

Edwards is no different than any of the others. Aren't they each out for themselves? Why else would they be throwing their support behind one or the other rather than waiting until the convention to see whether or not their votes are actually needed? The entire system is just... odd and not exactly democratic. Why are a select few more important than anyone else?
They all want to be associated with O now. It is the "cool" thing to be - whether he is the best for the job or not (and I am not saying either way)

Pretty says:
"See, I like Edwards...I don't think he's any more weasly than any of the others."
What high praise...that you don't think "he's any more weasly (sic)". Too funny.
I think Edwards should definitely have backed Obama much sooner than this. At this point it looks way more opportunistic. Anyways, better late than never I suppose.

see i like edwards. i thought it was a good decision not to place his bets on anyone before it seemed certain who would be the nominee. i think if he were to have chosen hillary early on while the nominee seemed uncertain it could have made the party seemed to divided, even though it does look that way right now. Plus Edwards as a VP spot is good decision. I think the US is just not ready for either a black or female president, regardless of how competent they are. You guys are just too conservative for that.

to be clear, i did not say anything about weasly, i copied fool and used the big O term.
I am more and more excited about Edwards as Attorney General.
I feel good knowing that the jess who posted is not related to me or else I would be in trouble

Reminds me of an old joke ...
An amoeba and a paramecium meet on the street. The amoeba says, "So how do you get around without pseudopodia?" The paramecium replies, "A cilia question I've never heard!"
[Feel free to use this in your stand-up]

He's auditioning for the VP position.
I would have rather seen a Clinton-Edwards ticket than an Obama-Edwards ticket.
