Thoughts about Day Four of the Democratic Convention
Obama absolutely hit it out of the park. With the exception of one instance, when he referred to the Taliban as the Tal-ee-ban, as in "Come, Mr. Taleeban, Tally me Banana," the Big O’s speech was flawless. Major Kudos to him. He wore a dazzling tie too, which clashed with his wife’s ugly dress, but those are the breaks.
In other news, could Al Gore be any more boring? I watched his speech and quickly remembered why he lost in 2000. He's stiffer than Anderson Cooper watching Tom Brady warm up before a football game. Gore has the ability to be quite charming and funny. He was neither last night.
After watching most of the convention over the last four days, I would definitely say: ADVANTAGE DEMOCRATS.

Wow. McCane just picked a woman VP with no experience... also today is his 72nd birthday so if he's elected, this lady would likely assume the presidency in a few months or so. Interesting that she's a relative unknown with less experience than Obama on the national and international level, which seems to completely deflate McCain's arguments about Obama's experience.
I love the use of identity politics here. McCain's thinking is that by choosing a woman (would he have otherwise done so if Barak was not Black?) he can fracture the base of the democratic party along lines of race and gender. Clever... though somewhat insulting if you think about it. Perhaps Gore should enter the race, then we could have a three way battle royale between race, gender and the robot species.

Wiseazz, your last line made me laugh out loud! I agree that McCain can no longer argue that Obama is inexperienced. The choice of a woman is definitely a clever pick. I look forward to learning more about her. I'm glad the old man didn't select Romney or that dweeb from Minnesota.

I barely saw the DNC on tv..I was stuck at work late every night last week, and ended up listening to all of the speeches on the radio.
Looks like Gustav is going to derail the RNC.

Passing thought for McCain campaign commercial... Palin shooting the assault rifle in a swimsuit. They'll get great turnout from the Xena Warrior Princess devotees.
